An Illustrated All-Nighter in Zhujiajiao

A group of completely responsible girls get away to a quaint water village on the outskirts of Shanghai. At nightfall, they journey along the twisting canals in search of the lone tavern, promised to be at the end of The Green Light.

The village is utterly empty. The girls' laughter bounces off of narrow alleyways, and the trek seems pleasantly endless. They spot a ray of green. Faint at first, the eerie laser-leash pierces the night to beckon them, extending from a darkened doorway of another dimension...

Fun fact: Parisian artist Jade Flamand was not present for The Green Light adventure. Collaborating with trilingual Elsa she interpreted the story text and used reference photos to draw these visuels très trippants.
